Copy the signing link after mail skips

When Inkpacket skip-logs a signing invite, copy the token from the envelope. The envelope already counted. That is copy-link honesty — not Envelope admin Resend, not a twin send, not a seat URL.

Desk send, bulk send, Web Form fills, and POST /api/v1/packets/:id/send create the envelope even when outbound email fails. When RESEND_API_KEY is missing — or Resend rejects the recipient — the desk reports Resend not configured and says Signing link is ready. Invite email was not sent — copy the link and share it. The copy box is #signing-link on that draft. Opening /desk/documents/new#signing-link before a PDF is uploaded asks you to upload first — the box appears after you send. That is copy-link honesty: the recovery is the URL on this envelope, not a second create-and-send.

Retrying mail on the same id is resend after a soft-fail email. The seat URL is a different object — workspace team invite versus signing invite. The five-minute send already mentions the fallback. Desk help is Docs. This guide is the copy box itself.

Ask Inkpacket for copy the signing link after mail skips to open this article. Ask copy signing link to open the send-form anchor. Ask invite email was not sent to open help. Those phrases stay on the product screens. This article is the public version of why the quiet inbox is not a missing envelope.

Where the URL lives

  • After send: #signing-link on that document. Copy signingUrl.
  • Embed uses the same token at the embed URL. Copy that if the host page is the door.
  • A Web Form fill says The invite email was not sent. Use the signing link below.
  • A bulk row that sent still created the envelope — open that document, not the job, to copy.

GET /api/v1/health reports emailConfigured. Settings #email shows the same flag. Send returns emailSent and emailError next to signingUrl and embedUrl. Envelope admin Resend and Correct on a sent envelope show the same copyable link. If you only needed the signer to have the URL, copy it now. Do not wait for a key that this install may never get.

What copy is not

  • Not a second envelope. The send already counted toward the month.
  • Not a Team inviteUrl. That URL has no PDF.
  • Not Billing. Checkout is not open and does not configure Resend.
  • Not a reason to POST send again. That is a twin you may 402.

SMS is a third skip: Text-message (SMS) is coming soon. Copy the same signing link. Drive archive still waits for a completed envelope. Stripe off: Payments not live. None of those flags deliver the invite. Text-message reminders are coming soon is the text path.

When to Resend instead

Envelope admin Resend emails the existing signing link to outstanding signer(s) again. Use it when the key is now present and you want the product to retry mail. If the key is still missing, Resend logs the same way. The token stays. Copy is still available. Resend is retry-mail. Copy is share-it-yourself. Neither mints a twin.

Correct when the address was wrong. That updates the outstanding signer and may rotate the token. Then copy the new URL if mail skips again. Do not correct a teammate row. Do not paste inviteUrl into a signer thread.

Web Form and bulk

A fill page can show the signing link when the invite email was not sent. Copy from that page or from the created envelope — not from the slug. The slug starts the next stranger. A reminder that logs when Resend is missing is not a second fill. Web Form reminders and expiry on publish is that inheritance.

A bulk job that says Job created, but sending did not finish still has rows that sent. Open those documents. Copy each link. Retry the job skips rows that already sent — it does not re-email them. Bulk send Free envelope math is that fan-out.

The click-path

  1. Send the envelope. Read emailSent. If it is false, stay on this id.
  2. Copy the signing link. Share it in a channel you control.
  3. Do not create a second draft to “retry email.”
  4. Do not open Billing to unlock mail.
  5. If you later have a key, Resend on this same sent envelope.

On a phone, Documents is in the desk menu. Open the envelope. The copy box is on that draft after send. Ask Inkpacket for open files if you cannot find the list.

Caps and what is not open yet

The skipped email does not refund the send. Free allows 5 packets a month. Free at 5 packets a month is the live cap desk send, bulk rows, Web Form fills, and API send share. Hitting it returns HTTP 402 ENVELOPE_LIMIT. Starter is 20 envelopes — more than Free — plus 3 published Web Forms. Seat counts are planning numbers; invite does not refuse when a workspace is full.

Billing is published, not charging. Checkout is not open. Text-message (SMS) is coming soon. Drive missing: Drive not configured. Stripe off: Payments not live. Those flags do not invent a delivered inbox. The FAQ and invite email help use Invite email was not sent and copy the link in the same words.

Copy the URL on the envelope you already have. File that envelope when they finish. Open a workspace on Free — see published pricing — and send a throwaway with mail off so the copy box is something you have used before a real signer waits.
