After you upload a PDF on Documents → new, the field tool places signature, date, text, initials, checkbox, and select marks — Documents → new #fields. Assign each mark to a recipient slot. Select fields need at least two comma-separated options. That is select-options honesty: one word is not a menu, Suggest starting layout will not invent choices, and opening Billing will not “allow a single-option select.”
The type list is template field types overview. Why the starter ignores the printed line is why Suggest starting layout does not read the PDF. Who each mark belongs to is assign fields to each signer on one envelope. Desk help is Docs. This guide is why the select tool waits for a second option, and why that wait is not a failed upload.
The FAQ and field placement on Features name the six types. Ask Inkpacket for why a select field needs two options to open this article. Ask how field types work to open help. Those phrases stay on the product screens. This article is the public version of Select fields need at least two comma-separated options — the string the desk already uses next to that mark.
What two covers
- At least two comma-separated options. Yes, No is a legal select. Yes alone is not.
- The signer picks one value. That value is stamped on the completed PDF.
- Checkboxes are the other binary. Checkboxes stamp an X when checked. They are not a one-option select.
- Recipient slots stay 1–20. Two options are not two envelopes and not two templates.
A template accepts 80 fields. A select with two options is still one mark toward that ceiling. Saving the layout is not a send. Sending the draft counts. Free allows 5 packets a month. Placing a select with one option does not return HTTP 402 ENVELOPE_LIMIT. Suggest starting layout places a signature, initials, and date for each recipient on the last page — it does not place a select, and it does not read the PDF or guess labels with a model. Coordinates are stored as page percentages.
What this is not
- Not a failed read. The PDF loaded. The select still needs two options you type.
- Not A template accepts 80 fields. Eighty is the mark cap. Two is the menu floor.
- Not a zero-field publish. A template with other marks can still publish. This stop is one select that has nowhere to choose.
- Not checkout. Billing is not open. Paying a listed price does not allow a one-option select.
Type the options as a comma-separated list on the mark. Drag the mark after you place it. Assign a recipient slot. Reminders go out by email today. Text-message (SMS) is coming soon. Email still soft-fails on the send, not on the option list. Text-message (SMS) is coming soon. Drive archive waits for completed. Stripe off: Payments not live. None of those flags invent a second choice.
The click-path
- Open the field tool on a draft or a template. Place a select. Type at least two comma-separated options.
- If you only needed a yes/no stamp, use a checkbox. Do not open Settings for a one-option select.
- Assign the mark. Save the template or send the draft when the menu is yours.
- If send returns HTTP 402 ENVELOPE_LIMIT, that is the monthly cap, not the option list.
- On a phone, Documents or Templates is a drawer row. Two options are still the floor. Help is not a drawer row — it stays in the header.
Eighty marks is the other ceiling — why a template stops at 80 fields. Saving those marks still does not count — why saving a template is not an envelope. Ask Inkpacket for why a select field needs two options to open this article. Ask how field types work to open help. Ask place fields to open the send form.
Ask and the menu
Ask Inkpacket for why a select field needs two options to open this article. Ask how field types work to open help. Marketing Ask stays site Q&A and deep links. It will not type the comma list, place the mark, or invent a second option from this article. Two choices are the menu. Your comma list is the rest.
Caps and what is not open yet
Refusing a one-option select is not a send. Send of a draft that used a legal select is. Free allows 5 packets a month. Free at 5 packets a month is the live cap desk send, bulk rows, Web Form fills, and API send share. Hitting it returns HTTP 402 ENVELOPE_LIMIT. Starter is 20 envelopes — more than Free — plus 3 published Web Forms. Seat counts are planning numbers; invite does not refuse when a workspace is full.
Billing is published, not charging. Checkout is not open. Text-message (SMS) is coming soon. Drive missing: Drive not configured. Stripe off: Payments not live. Those flags do not allow a one-option select or hide the mark. The FAQ and FAQ use Select fields need at least two comma-separated options in the same words.
Type two choices. Then send. Open a workspace on Free — see published pricing — and place a throwaway select with one word so select-options honesty is a stopped menu you already typed, not a Settings hunt for a single-choice field this pass does not ship.
