Settings email From and Reply-To

Inkpacket Settings → Outbound email shows emailConfigured only. From is RESEND_FROM_EMAIL or Inkpacket <noreply@inkpacket.com>. There is no workspace Reply-To field. That is from-line honesty — not a branded inbox you type in Settings.

Settings → Outbound email is a flag, not a mail composer. When RESEND_API_KEY is set, the card says Resend configured. When it is missing, the card says Resend not configured. Health reports emailConfigured. The From line is the install’s RESEND_FROM_EMAIL, or the default Inkpacket noreply address. There is no From field on the card. There is no Reply-To field on the card. You cannot type a workspace brand into Settings and have invites come from it. That is from-line honesty: the card tells you whether mail can leave, not which mailbox you wish you owned.

The skip copy is copy the signing link after mail skips. Retrying mail is resend after a soft-fail email. Storage on the same Settings page is Settings storage: S3 versus local. Desk help is Docs. This guide is the From and Reply-To story the UI refuses to fake.

Ask Inkpacket for Settings email From and Reply-To to open this article. Ask email settings or emailConfigured to open the Settings card. Ask how outbound email works to open help. Those phrases stay on the product screens. This article is the public version of why the card has no address boxes.

What the card shows

  • Resend configured — or Resend not configured. One sentence either way.
  • Signing invites, reminders, decline notices, and seat invites use that same flag.
  • Without the key, Inkpacket logs the message. The desk says Invite email was not sent — copy the link and share it.
  • GET /api/v1/health reports emailConfigured. The card matches that boolean.

The FAQ says From lines and public links should use inkpacket.com in production. That is the host, not a Settings text box. Members can send envelopes. They cannot invent a From. Owners and admins see the same card. Nobody gets a Reply-To input in this pass.

What From actually is

The install sets RESEND_FROM_EMAIL when it wants a full From header. If that variable is empty, Inkpacket uses the product name and a noreply address on the inkpacket.com host. Changing From is an operator job on the server, the same class of work as setting the API key. It is not a Free-versus-paid control. Checkout is not open. Opening Billing does not unlock a branded From.

Reply-To is not a product setting. Signers who hit reply on an invite will not land in a workspace inbox you configured on the desk. If you need a human thread, say so in the channel where you pasted the signing link. Do not expect the product to route replies.

What the card is not

  • Not a From / Reply-To form. Those boxes do not exist.
  • Not cadence. Reminder and expiration defaults are the next card — Settings #cadence.
  • Not storage. S3 versus local is a different card — not mail.
  • Not Team. A seat invite uses the same From flag and still is not an envelope.

SMS, Drive, and payments sit on the same Settings page as their own flags. Text-message (SMS) is coming soon. Drive missing: Drive not configured. Stripe off: Payments not live. None of those cards let you type a phone From, a Drive From, or a payment From. They are honest wired-or-not surfaces. Mail matches that pattern.

Soft-fail still uses this From

When the key is missing, nothing is sent, so From never appears in an inbox. When the key is present and Resend rejects the recipient, the desk still says Invite email was not sent. Copy the signing link. Do not edit a From box that is not there hoping the reject goes away. Do not mint a second envelope to “retry from a better address.”

The click-path

  1. Open Settings. Read Outbound email. Believe the flag.
  2. If it is not configured, copy signing links after send. Do not hunt for From.
  3. If you operate the install and need a different From, set RESEND_FROM_EMAIL on the server.
  4. Do not open Billing to buy a Reply-To.
  5. Do not ask a teammate to type an address on a card that has none.

Ask Inkpacket for where is settings on mobile to find the page in the desk menu. Help is not a drawer row — it stays in the header. The invite-email section is the longer operator note for the skip sentence.

Caps and what is not open yet

Reading Settings is not a send. Free allows 5 packets a month. Free at 5 packets a month is the live cap desk send, bulk rows, Web Form fills, and API send share. Hitting it returns HTTP 402 ENVELOPE_LIMIT. Starter is 20 envelopes — more than Free — plus 3 published Web Forms. Seat counts are planning numbers; invite does not refuse when a workspace is full.

Billing is published, not charging. Checkout is not open. Text-message (SMS) is coming soon. Drive missing: Drive not configured. Stripe off: Payments not live. Those flags do not add a From box. The FAQ and invite email help use emailConfigured and Invite email was not sent in the same words.

Trust the flag. Copy the link when mail skips. Leave From to the install. Open a workspace on Free — see published pricing — or sign in and open Settings so the empty From story is a card you have read, not a guess.
