SMS signing invites are coming soon
Coming soon. Text-message (SMS) reminders are coming soon, and reminders go out by email today. Inkpacket does not text a signing link. The desk still shows the signing URL.
Email is the invite that goes out today. Text-message (SMS) reminders are coming soon, and reminders go out by email today. Inkpacket does not text a signing link. The envelope, the fields, and the audit trail do not change. Copy the signing URL the desk already shows.
This guide is the public walkthrough. Desk help is Docs. Features is SMS signing invites. The link itself is documented under signing link. If you have not sent an envelope yet, start with the five-minute send.
What goes out today
The email invite carries the tokenized URL — /sign/TOKEN. The signer still does not create an Inkpacket account. Access codes still apply: they enter the PIN on the signing page. Share the code on a second channel, separate from the email. Text-message (SMS) is coming soon. Access codes for sensitive envelopes and More on access codes state that rule.
Embedded signing is a different delivery: you iframe the token on a host page. Text-message (SMS) is coming soon and does not wrap that URL. Embedded signing is the iframe guide.
What to do on a send today
- Open a draft from Documents → new, or from a template.
- Add the signer’s name and email as usual.
- Send the invite by email.
- Text-message (SMS) reminders are coming soon. Inkpacket does not text a signing link.
- Set reminder interval, expiration, and an optional access code. Reminders go out by email today.
Public API POST /api/v1/packets/:id/send can store phone and sendSms. Neither field sends a text today. A single name and email still works. The API guide covers idempotency and the rest of the body.
When keys are missing
Text-message (SMS) is coming soon. Reminders go out by email today. Inkpacket does not text a signing link. The desk still shows the signing link. Copy the URL and share it yourself.
That honesty matches Drive archive and in-envelope payments: missing credentials are a visible status, not a fake success. You can evaluate the desk on Free. Text-message (SMS) is coming soon. Billing is published, not charging.
Resend, reminders, and routing stay on email
Resend, sequential routing, and reminders go out by email today. Text-message (SMS) is coming soon. Inkpacket does not text a signing link. A sequential later signer is not emailed until it is their turn. Reminders skip signed, declined, voided, or expired envelopes. Sequential vs parallel signing and routing help explain the waiting page.
If you correct the recipient and the email changes, the previous token is retired and a new email invite goes out. Text-message (SMS) is coming soon. Voiding the envelope kills every signing and embed link. Envelope admin is the in-place toolkit.
Email today
- Send the signing link by email.
- Copy the signing URL if the invite email was not sent.
- Text-message (SMS) reminders are coming soon. Inkpacket does not text a signing link.
- Share an access code separately from the email.
Bulk send still starts from a template and a list of names and emails. Text-message (SMS) is coming soon. Bulk send for HR and sales envelopes is the list path. A Web Form fill uses the email the filler typed; it is not an SMS entry point.
What to do while text messages are not live
Treat email as the only invite channel. On Documents → new, add the signer’s name and email, place the fields, and send. If Resend is configured, the signer gets the tokenized link in that message. If the desk says Invite email was not sent, copy the signing link from the same envelope and share it yourself. Do not create a second envelope because you wanted a text. A second send spends another envelope against the monthly cap and starts a second reminder schedule.
Reminders go out by email today. Set the reminder interval and the expiration on the send, or keep the workspace defaults. The hourly job emails outstanding signers when the interval has elapsed. Signed, declined, voided, expired, and completed envelopes are skipped. A sequential later signer is not emailed until earlier orders finish. Correcting the email retires the previous token and sends a new email invite. Resend emails the same link again. None of those actions text the signer.
An access code is still a second secret you share yourself. It is not inside the invite email. A public Web Form fill and a bulk-send row also invite by email. If a signer says they never saw a message, open that envelope, confirm the address, and copy the URL. Text-message (SMS) reminders are coming soon. Until then, the copy box and the email are the doors.
What SMS signing is not
- Not a second envelope. The email points at one token. Text-message (SMS) is coming soon.
- Not a chat thread or a two-way help desk. The signer opens the link or they do not.
- Not a substitute for expiry. An email link still dies when the window ends — reminders and expiry.
- Not a live charge. In-envelope payments are coming soon.
